What customers say?

“ The Ueno Seiyoken is the oldest western restaurant in Japan. It's inside the music concert hall, second floor. The best steak I've tasted so far, for a fair price point of 5,000 yen. Will be coming back!!! ”

“ First visit I've been to this hall many times, but I never got around to it. But finally, I finally made it. I went alone, but they seated me at the amazing counter. What a spectacular view. I could see the entire lobby of the main hall. The wait for my food flew by as I focused on the upcoming performance. Today's order Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Forestille Original Chop Suey ¥1,780 (tax included) I had already decided what I was going to eat. The food was delivered quickly, and I made it in time for the start of the main hall performance. Thank you! Quote from the official website below There are various theories about the origin of chop suey, and the cooking methods and ingredients vary slightly depending on the region and restaurant. However, it is said to have become popular after Cantonese cuisine was introduced to America and adapted to local tastes. We have been serving this Western dish, made with a bouillon base and packed with rich vegetable flavor, since the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan opened in 1961. There are so many Western dishes to choose from, I'll have a hard time deciding what to order next time I visit! As for the wait time, it was extremely crowded before the show started. I waited about 30 minutes, but if you're dining here, you'll need to be prepared to wait or have plenty of time, so please keep that in mind. It was well worth the wait. It was an elegant and wonderful restaurant. I'll definitely visit again! ”

“ I arrived at Restaurant Forestille Seiyoken on the second floor of Tokyo Bunka Kaikan a little after 1:30pm on a Saturday. I waited about 15 minutes. I ordered the fluffy omelet rice with hayashi sauce. It was chicken rice topped with a fluffy egg. The hayashi rice was rich and flavorful, with more tender beef than I expected, and it was delicious. I was able to dine in a calm environment, and the food was served quickly, so I was very satisfied. ”

“ Forestille Seiyoken It was the middle day of the equinox. After a family dinner following a visit to the grave, we moved on to celebrate my second daughter's birthday (the first one). We were already full from lunch and had just enjoyed a hearty dessert, so we all ordered cake sets. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, so it's spacious and the interior is beautiful. My second daughter shared her recent updates with us, which made for a very relaxing time. The cake was delicious, and it was a truly wonderful time. (Visited September 23, 2025) ”

“ I visited this restaurant before a concert at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan. It has a slightly retro atmosphere. I had beef stew, borscht, and a sandwich. The beef stew was slowly simmered, and the melt-in-your-mouth beef tendon in a rich demi-glace sauce really gave it the feel of a long-established restaurant. The borscht and sandwich were also carefully made and delicious. It's a shame that the seats are so close together that you can hear what the other table is saying, but I'd definitely like to return when there's an event at the Bunka Kaikan. ”

“ after walking the park , around 1300 lunch time .suddenly we observe everywhere find the building in the loop. lucky have one western japan style restaurants. decorations so clean and clear because have more windows, we order pasta, corn soup and steaks. taste not bad. overall I think the TV show introduced in Japan choose western food not bad and keep high level standard ”

- Chun Fung, James Kong -

“ When I first got to the restaurant, I was unsure if they would allow me and my friend to enter because we are foreigners, but I needn’t have worried because the staff were super kind. They treat every customer with respect and offer free refills of water without you needing to ask for a new cup. Both my friend and I had the beef curry with rice and it was absolutely delicious. I was a little sad that you pay 1,760¥ for not a very big serving, but other than that, the food was delicious and the best thing I’ve had since I came to Japan. If you are exploring around the Akihabara area and visiting the National Museum, I would 100% recommend this restaurant! ”

“ One of the most venerable Western Japanese restaurants, with a history spanning approximately 150 years, offers an exceptionally delectable beef stew featuring exceptionally tender beef. Even the fillet beef steak is remarkably soft and succulent. ”
